A successful headteacher for over 17 years, Rob Higgins was appointed an NLE for his London Challenge work with schools in London and Bristol where he developed training programmes for school leaders as well as contributing to local and national conferences on leadership and recruitment.
Rob has advised schools on developing school-based teacher training and worked as an LA adviser, working with Headteachers and Governors on recruitment, Ofsted preparation and performance management.
A highly experienced and knowledgeable teacher trainer, Craig Channell has established two separate and highly successful School Centred Initial Teacher Training schemes. The original, pioneering scheme was considered “outstanding” by Ofsted. The DfE rated it one of the top three SCITTs in the country.
In all Craig has had the responsibility of personally recruiting and training hundreds of trainees. He has presented nationally on teacher training and his views on teacher recruitment have been sought by government ministers.
This joint experience led Craig and Rob to set up a highly successful SCITT for a large academies chain. The scheme was praised by Ofsted for the quality of its programme and the high success (and employment) rate of its trainees. They have also been at the forefront of School Direct developments.
